Yeah, but you should see the other guy!

From the looks of this kid you'd think he was part of some underground street fighting ring.  Nope!  It's just week one with the one year olds at daycare!  No Fear!

Heeeeeey!

Here are a few other recent developments:

• When he wants something he points to the object and then back to himself. . .until he gets it.
• We were bowling and we asked him if he wanted a cracker and he nodded his head and said "gnah!"  Which we've formally interpreted to mean "Yes!"
• He's standing, walking, and just about scurrying.
• Lots of teething action, which is really fun. . .yeah.

Facefood

Oliver has turned into a toddler overnight! About 2-3 weeks ago he really got the hang of walking and went from crawling with intermittent walking to walking all the time. He started standing up on his own this week.  He babbles constantly and he is starting to understand directions, such as "come sit in your chair to eat". He is getting better at feeding himself. He prefers to dump his food out of his bowl and eat it off the floor or off his tray.  On Monday he will start in the "Ones" class at daycare. AND his top two teeth finally broke through! 

There's walking. . .and then there's WALKING!

A few weeks ago we published a post about Oliver walking.  That little joker's had the skills but has chosen to be real coy with them.  He'll take a few steps and then sit down and crawl.

Tonight was a different story.  We got home from the in-law's and for some reason he just started walking around all over the place for the last hour before bedtime.  See?

1st Swim

This actually happened about a month ago, and I forgot to post it. I doesn't look like Oliver was very happy, but he enjoyed the water. We found out later that week that he had an ear infection and thrush.  Oliver loves the water and loves to splash and get water on his face.

Step by Step - oh baby!

Last Tuesday, July 5 while we were waiting to have our new sofas delivered, Oliver started really walking on his own. Not just between Shawn and I, but all over the living room! 

12 Months

 

Height: 30 inches (55th percentile)

Weight: 20.2 (15th percentile)

Eating Habits: Size 3 baby foods and "table food" w/ formula and whole milk
Diapers: Size 3

Nighttime Routine: 1-2 books and a bath every other night. We play hide-n-seek and  other teasing games before bed time. Sleeping from 8:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Accomplishments:

-Walking along with someone holding your hand and a little bit on your own.

-Trying and liking "table food".

- Feeding yourself with your hands.

-Shaking your head right and left.

-Playing games by covering your eyes with your hands or blankets.

-Using your pointer finger.
