Soccer

When we signed Linc up for soccer Oliver was sad that he didn't get to play soccer too. I was able to sign him up in the NYS league with his friend Dexter Klingler. It was....and interesting experience - There was a lot of tears, whining and candy involved. Practices were great but we spent a majority of the games bribing the kids to get out on the field and play. 

Lucky for us Oliver is super cute and the games were entertaining.

 This is a pretty decent representation of their attitudes this season...so cute.

1st Dentist Visit

Oliver likes to refer to himself as "little-big" and Lincoln is "big-little"...he is a "big boy" but not as big as Lincoln or Dad. Its very entertaining. He also graduated to a booster seat about a month ago. We have had a couple of scares with him un-buckling his seat belt and opening the door while we have been driving, but he knows "the right way" as he likes to say now.

 Oliver had his first visit to the dentist right before Halloween. Lincoln was there getting his teeth cleaned and I think that helped him not feel scared. Oh and the dentist office has a little alcove with I-pads for the kids to play games while they wait...I am sure that helped too. He has asked several times if we can go back to the dentist to play the I-pads.

Three - The Stats

Oliver is one happy little guy. Anyone who know Oliver knows that he talks constantly.

 He has a wonderful sense of humor and loves to tease. 

His pediatrician thinks that he probably has a 3000+ word vocabulary.

He loves to "read" books and help with his sister Adria.

He can count to 10 and sing several songs.

 We are working on his letters and he can recognize and tell you words that start with the letters A-G.

Oliver has an amazing memory. He will recall past events in detail.

He loves to climb and run and jump.

This summer he started learning how to swim.

1st Day of Preschool

Oliver started preschool this year. It's actually at Kid's Inc where he and Lincoln were in daycare. He hasn't gone since Adria was born. We worked it out with them to have Oliver go for a few hours twice per week. O was so excited to go back. His teacher is Ms. Pat, who we all love. She is so good and just loves our kids.

Three - The Party

Oliver turned three while we were visiting Grandma and Grandpa Jensen in Utah this summer. I took him on a special movie date to see The Croods. We both enjoyed the movie and of course the popcorn!

We had a wonderful family party for him up in the mountains at Timpanokee Campgrounds. Grandma brought a bubble machine and the kids had a blast dancing and trying to catch hundreds of bubbles.

 

We also had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle friend party on the Saturday after his birthday with our friends kids, Aubree & Jaycee Smith, Gabe & Sam Poulson, and Easton Baird. Our good friend Michael brought a bounce house and we had water balloons, popsicle and a dinosaur cake.

Oliver's 1st Camping Trip

Oliver just went on his very first camping trip ever. It was fathers and sons with Grandpa Bullen. O was pretty fascinated with being outside at night. The full moon was huge! O slept with me in one tent while Linc slept with grandpa in his. Before going to bed, we sang some songs and I told O a story about a boy named Luke who lived in the desert on a planet a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away :)

O found a pine cone for his mom. . .and apparently his six pack.

Fathers and Sons is even better with a brother

Dirty?!?

I like my kids to wash their hands when we get home from the store - of course Oliver asks "Why". SO I made the mistake of telling him that 'stores' are dirty and sometimes people can be dirty too...Well today when we were at Wal-mart he starts asking (in a fairly loud voice) about the people around us "Are those people dirty"....I wanted to die!

I had wanted to take Oliver on a special date before Adria was born, but everything happened really fast and I didn't get the chance....

I took Oliver to the Phoenix Zoo on Tuesday we had such a great time just the 2 of us!

Hulk Smash Oliver

To say that Oliver loves "Hulk Smash" is bit of an understatement

A couple of weeks ago Lincoln's school had "Backwards Day". Of course Oliver wanted to participate. He has worn most of his shirts and jammies backwards since then.  He has his shirt on backwards here but I couldn't get a good picture of it.
